About Rajni
Location: New Delhi, India.
A Little About Me: I have been crafting since childhood, but jumped fully into paper craft in 2012. Creativity has a beautiful way of finding its place in the smallest corners of our lives. For me, paper crafting started as a quiet passion and slowly became an inseparable part of my everyday world. What began with a few sheets of paper and colors has now grown into a journey filled with learning, experimenting, and sharing creativity with others. Over the years, crafting has become much more than making cards or paper projects. It is my way of slowing down, expressing emotions, and turning simple materials into something meaningful and beautiful.
My Favorite Project
Why It’s My Favorite: One of my favorite projects is the card where I experimented with making an embossed wooden backdrop. I chose a dark wood-textured backdrop for my card base, and it completely transformed the design's look. The moment I placed my bright, handmade flowers on it, I was amazed at how beautifully they popped against the deep background. There was something so striking and elegant about that contrast, the richness of the wood and the softness of the florals coming together so effortlessly. It is one of those creations that I truly loved from the core of my heart, and even today, it reminds me how a simple change in background can bring an entirely new life to a design.
Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool
My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: I absolutely love creating handmade flowers- in fact, I can truly say I live for them. There’s something so magical about shaping each petal and watching a flower come to life from simple paper. So naturally, my favorite tools are my flower-making tools. They are always the first things I reach for when I sit at my craft table. Along with them, my inks, embossing tools, and blending brushes are essentials I simply cannot live without. They help me add depth, softness, and character to every piece I create. For me, these tools are not just supplies; they are a part of my creative expression.
One tip I always like to follow—and share with others—is to make extra flowers while creating. For me, it’s always “the more, the merrier.” Not only does it give me a deeper sense of satisfaction while creating, but it also helps me build a little collection for future projects. There’s something so comforting about having handmade elements ready; it makes the next creative process smoother and even more enjoyable.
A Peek Into My Craft Space
About My Craft Space: One of the most special parts of my creative journey is my craft space. My craft room is actually a small dining area that I converted into a crafting space. Though the room is small, it is full of joy and happiness. For more than eight years, I worked on my dining table, using it as my craft table. Two years ago, I finally designed my own craft table and got it custom-made by a carpenter. It was such a special moment to see a table designed exactly for the way I create. Today, that little corner has become my happy place. It is where I can sit quietly with my craft supplies, thinking, experimenting, and letting ideas flow. I often feel like I’m having long conversations with my papers, inks, and tools.
My table has a marbled tabletop, which makes it easy for me to use it roughly. I am someone who enjoys keeping things organized. My supplies are carefully arranged in drawers and cupboards so that everything has its place. One little habit that I love is creating and displaying my handmade cards on the cupboard right in front of my table and on the paper storage cabinet on my left. Seeing my previous creations every day helps me stay inspired and connected to my own style.
Over time, I have realized that I enjoy creating in a very particular style that feels true to me. And one of the most encouraging moments for me is when fellow crafters say they can instantly recognize my work among a large collection of projects. Hearing that always brings a huge smile to my face and motivates me to keep creating from the heart.
