About Kate
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
A Little About Me: Hi, I’m Kate, and this is my second year on the Cute & Whimsical design team. I’ve always crafted! My earliest memory of crafting was when I was 3 years old, and my Nana was babysitting me for the evening. I was most put out when she took my scissors away (they were rounded at the ends!) and told me I was too young to use them. Apparently, I was most indignant and refused to stay over again!
I am really enjoying being part of Joset’s team. The camaraderie and support from my teammates is great. We chat and share our latest projects with each other. I have learned so much from them, too, as they are a very talented team!
My Favorite Project
Why It’s My Favorite: This is one of my favorite projects. I love making shaped cards, and this little rocker card is perfect to show some movement. I made the golf buggy using a parasol die and the sidecar from the motorcycle set. I absolutely love it when I can use my dies in other ways.
Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool
My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: My go-to products from ECD have to be the soft-finish cardstock. It is super for die cutting and inking, but did you know it’s also excellent for stamping and coloring? And because it’s lightly textured on the back, you can use either side.
A Peek Into My Craft Space
About My Craft Space: I am very lucky to have my own little craft room. It’s packed full despite its size. As I use my pens and inks for almost every crafty project, I keep them close at hand. I only ever buy the colors I like, so you won’t find many purples there! One of the ways I like to stay organized is by keeping my tiny little die-cuts in small storage boxes. This means when I’m short on time, I can just grab what I need and get crafting. I keep these topped up, which uses up all the little scraps of cardstock.
