About Jacqueline

Location: Netherlands

A Little About Me: I am Jacqueline, a mixed media artist and paper flower maker from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. I grew up in a family that was used to making things ourselves, so I’ve been creative all my life. I started making things from waste materials and drew a lot of animals in primary school. Later on I discovered scrapbooking and making cards. A couple of years ago, when my son was in hospital, I rediscovered being creative with paper. It really helped me through this difficult time. Then, one day, someone in a store introduced me to Devid, and I discovered ECD. I saw a DT call and answered it. Since Annette invited me to her team, a new world opened for me. I absolutely love being part of this creative family and having the opportunity to give demonstrations and workshops. Meanwhile, I discovered making paper flowers, and I can’t imagine a world without them anymore.

My Favorite Project

Why It’s My Favorite: I love trying out new collections alongside new techniques and materials. Making this project with Spy the Chameleon was an experiment. I had just bought new pigment powders and had to try them. I think that it worked out pretty well. I added layers to the background with metallic-colored modeling paste, using the stencils from the Art Journal collection and the silhouette leaves made from black cardstock. As a finishing touch, I made the paper flowers. I really loved making this, and I am very happy with the bright, colorful outcome.

Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool

My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: Because I love using inks, paints, and pastels, I prefer working on a glass surface. It is so easy to clean, and now my colors won’t mix when I don’t want them to.

A Peek Into My Craft Space

About My Craft Space: Although I have a dedicated craft space, most of the time I work at the dining table with my kids and cats around me. It is our happy place filled with paper and happy craft projects. But I have a plan to work more in my craft space, so I am rearranging it at the moment. I’ve now put my favorite materials near my workspace, like alcohol markers, ink, stickles, etc., as you can see in the photo.
