Welcome to our Meet the Design Team series! Where we feature one of our incredible DT members, giving you a chance to learn more about them, their creativity, and what inspires them. Let’s dive in!

About Denise

Location: San Diego, California

A Little About Me: Hi, this is Denise with PaperKraftD. I live with my husband of 32 years, my college-age daughter (during holidays), and our two cats, Suki and Hopper. We have three children, but only one still lives at home.

I've been memory keeping ever since I was a child – pretty much since I could be trusted with scissors and glue. I remember my first memory book from a trip my mom and I took to Gold Country in Northern California. The teacher allowed me to take time off from school and didn’t make me take any schoolwork if I agreed to document my trip. I remember lovingly gluing (with rubber cement, lol) all my ephemera into it and writing about our adventures. I still have that memory book tucked into a special corner of our home and love pulling it out from time to time.

When we still had scrapbook and stamp stores in our neighborhood, I taught classes. Mini albums were my favorite. When the stores went out of business, I started teaching on YouTube, focusing on journals. I’m happy to have recently connected with a group of local ladies who craft weekly, and I have started in-person teaching again! I’m so happy to make those personal connections and to have a crafty community both online and in person. It makes my heart full.

This will be my third year as a Design Team member for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I started with Esther’s team, and now I’m looking forward to being on Annette’s team.

I can’t wait to see what the new year brings to our crafty community.

Big ((hugs)), Denise

My Favorite Project

Why It’s My Favorite: In this project I made a sweet little glassine envelope from Annette’s die set and added a tag cut from a time card inside. I stamped and colored an image with copics, adding gold accents. I love that the glassine is sheer and shows the design of the tag inside it. That adds so many interesting layers, and I’m all about layers in my work.

Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool

My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: I love using my Elizabeth Craft Design dies to make stencils. It’s a great way to stretch your stash, and adding stencil designs adds so much interest to a page in terms of texture and layering.
