About Sylvia

Location: Alphen aan den Rijn, the Netherlands

A Little About Me: I am married to Rob. We have two daughters and two grandkids. I have been crafting as long as I can remember. When I was little, I used to make clothes for my Barbie dolls, and I’ve been creating ever since. Over the years, my crafting has evolved, from scrapbooking to card-making and any other paper-related craft.

My Favorite Project

Project Title: The Food Truck Dies

Why It’s My Favorite: I love to create new shapes and characters by mixing my ECD dies. Two years ago, I created my version of a food truck using rectangles and showed it to Els, who asked Joset to turn my idea into a real die-cutting set. I have never been prouder and more grateful than when that design was released to the public. The same goes for the insects, but since I can only choose one project, it has to be the Food Truck.

Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool

My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: As part of Joset’s Design Team, I die-cut loads of characters. Some have very small parts, so I definitely recommend using ECD adhesive sheets/tape on the back of your cardstock. It makes it so much easier to stick those small pieces into place. Fine pointed tweezers are also a big help.

TIP: I use soft finish cardstock for all my makes and color every part with distress ink, but if you're in a hurry, you can always use colored cardstock to save time!

A Peek Into My Craft Space

About My Craft Space: I am lucky to have my own craft room, which used to be my youngest daughter’s bedroom that I took over when she left the nest. I have a large table for all my die cutting where I have all my ECD sets at hand, plus a homemade cabinet that I call my coloring station
