Are you a crafter who loves fun fold cards but also wants a project that’s easy to create? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to try making an easel card but weren’t sure where to start? Join us to learn how to create this easel card. A perfect project for beginners, once you’ve mastered the card base, you’ll be making triangle easel cards for any occasion.
Hello everyone! José here with a super easy tutorial to make a Triangle Easel Card with dies from the Cute & Whimsical collection in just a few steps. Let's get started!
Step 1: Cut a rectangle measuring 13×26 cm from paper. Make a score line at 13 cm and fold the card. You now have a card measuring 13×13 cm. I use 216-gram black cardstock for this base. To make it easier, I've marked the fold line in the photo below (white dotted line).
Step 2: Now, we will create the triangle. Make a diagonal fold line (dotted line in the photo) and fold this corner. This is already the base for your card.
Step 3: Of course, it is nice to decorate your card as well. I used Design Paper (C014 Pretty Pastels) to make it a bit more cheerful. For this, I use two sheets of design paper measuring 12.5 x 12.5 cm, of which I cut one 1sheet diagonally in half with my paper trimmer. I like to edge the sides with distress ink. Then stick this to the base of the card and splatter with paint.
Step 4: Now it gets really fun, because now we are going to use the fun dies from the mouse collection! I'm going to use a Little Mouse in combination with the new Baking Accessories set. Use what you like! I colored the mouse with alcohol markers, but you can use your favorite medium instead. You can decorate this card in so many fun and different ways. Make sure you only stick your elements on the bottom folded part; otherwise, the card may not work as an easel fold.
Step 5: To make the upright part easy to stand, you need something to hold it in place. For this, I made a label with a nice sentiment stamp. Stick it to the base of the card with thick foam tape where you want your triangle section to sit, and this way it stays in the correct position.
As you can see, creating a card with a fancy fold is very quick and easy, requiring just a few steps. I hope I have inspired you, and I am very curious to see what your card will look like!
