Are you a crafter who loves making bold, eye-catching cards? Or maybe you’ve been wanting to try new techniques like partial die cutting or ink splattering, but didn’t know where to begin? Join us and learn how to create this vibrant and fun card, using dies and inks to add details and dimension. With a quick sentiment swap, this card design works for birthdays, celebrations, and so much more!

Hello everyone!

Today, I have a clean and quirky Father’s Day card for you using partial die cutting and ink splattering. Let’s get started.

Step 1: Lay the frog die at the center top of an A2 card panel, then place it onto the cutting machine as you usually would, except position the top cutting plate to cover only half of the frog die as shown in the photo

Step 2: Cut a straight line vertically from the two points where the outline of the cutting plate ends.

Step 3: Stamp out the frog using water-resistant black ink. I used a stamping tool here, but you can use whichever method you prefer.

Step 4: To color the frog, place the waste piece from step 2 on top of your white panel, secure in place with tape. Splatter various greens and yellows with your preferred mediums. I used distress inks mixed with a little water.

Step 5: Stamp out the specimen sentiment down the side of a top-folding A2 card blank.

Step 6: Fix the prepared frog panel on the left side using 3d foam pads

Step 7: Add some sequins and a thin sentiment strip. You can use this design for a few different occasions by switching up the sentiments

I hope I have inspired a few of you to have a go at this design or even play with partial die cutting. Thank you for stopping by!
