In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to craft your own versatile gift card holder using die sets and patterned papers from the new Warm Wishes Collection to create a gift card holder and card for any occasion that your friends and family would love to receive.

Grab your dies, favorite adhesives, and die-cutting machine to follow along with the complete step-by-step guide and product list below!

Hi Crafty Friends! Janet here, bringing you a fun Decorative Gift Card Holder and greeting card all in one using the new Warm Wishes collection. This collection is so much fun to create with…the designs and occasions to use them for are limitless.

Step 1:  Using the dies from the Warm Wishes collection, die-cut the pieces for the Decorative Gift Card Holder from Spring Blossom designer cardstock, cream cardstock, and metallic gold cardstock as pictured.

Step 2: Ink the edges and assemble the gift card holder.

TOP TIP: When adhering the gold layers behind other layers, offset them slightly. This creates a beautifully elegant gold shadow effect.

Step 3: Using the dies from the Festive Floral and Foliage set, die-cut the flowers and greenery from a combination of Soft Finish Cardstock, cream cardstock, and gold cardstock. I usually die-cut more than I wind up using to make sure I have exactly what I need.

Step 4: Use various inks to color the florals and greenery. I’ve chosen a soft look for this project. Be sure to color the backs also, as they might show. Now you’re ready to shape everything and assemble the flowers.

Step 5: Create a pretty arrangement on the front of the gift card holder and secure it with hot glue. Cut gold cardstock 2 1/8 x 3 3/8” and round the edges using a corner punch. Stamp the sentiment using VersaMark ink, cover with embossing powder, and heat set. Adhere holly to the bottom and insert into the gift card slots. In this case, I added some cash. (You can do something like this or just add your gift card.)

Step 6: Cut cream cardstock 10 x 7” and score at 5” to create a 5 x 7” card base. Using the largest Stitched Rectangle die, cut from designer cardstock, ink the edges, and adhere to the card front. Using the second largest Stitched Rectangle die, cut from cream cardstock, dry emboss using a Christmas embossing folder, and ink the edges. Cut a piece of gold cardstock 1/8” larger than the cream layer, adhere the two together, and adhere to the card front. Using the second and third largest Stitched Rectangles, cut from designer paper and cardstock, ink the edges, and adhere to the inside of the card. Cut cream cardstock using the smallest Stitched Rectangle, stamp a sentiment, add your personal message, and adhere to the inside.

Step 7: Using dimensional squares and glue, adhere the Gift Card Holder to the center of the front of the card. Die-cut the little tag from cream and gold cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with VersaMark Ink on the cream tag, cover with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Stamp the leaves in green, ink the tag edges, adhere to the gold tag, offset, and add a tiny string bow. Adhere to the top.  Now you have the perfect gift and card all-in-one.

Step 8: Decide how many you need to make, grab your die-cutting machine and the awesome Warm Wishes dies, and start creating.

The Decorative Gift Card Holders are so versatile and can be used for all events and celebrations. Use your imagination and have fun creating wonderful gifts for your friends and family! I can’t wait to see what you create.
