About Michelle
Location: Ontario, Canada
A Little About Me: Hello! My name is Michelle Sammut, and for the 2nd year in a row, I am honored to be a part of the Planner Essentials Design Team. I live in Port Colborne, Ontario - Canada, which is about 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls. We moved here in 2020 from the “big city” and love living in our small town.
I have been crafting since I was able to hold scissors. I tend to get into all types of crafting, whether paper crafting, knitting, painting, screen printing - you name it, and I will do it! I can definitely say paper crafting is my most favorite as it allows me to express myself, store my memories through albums or pages, or gift my love of crafting through handmade cards.
Being a part of the ECD Design Team is literally a dream come true. I joined the ECD team for their Creative Retreat in Banff in 2023. It was game-changing for me. The whole ECD team is so friendly and talented, and they make you feel like long-time friends. I’ve always loved creating with ECD products, but each release just keeps you wanting to create more! The Planner Essentials team is right up my alley. I’ve been known to carry planners in each bag I own🙂
I use planners for memories, as a calendar, and even as an art journal.
My Favorite Project
Project Title: A JOURNEY INTO JOURNALING
Why It’s My Favorite: In 2024, I designed a full-year class titled “A Journey into Journaling.” I created 3-4 planner pages for every month, and I was able to use all the greatest from past to present of ECD. I enjoyed designing and teaching this class so much. I now have a full year of planner pages perfect for all my photos.
Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool
My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: A tip: You can combine all the ECD collections together when creating - from Planner Essentials, Art Journal, Cute & Whimsical, Everyday Elements, and Paper Flowers. Skies the limit!
A must-have tool: die cutting machine to cut all those amazing ECD dies and a stamping platform to stamp perfect images with the wonderful ECD stamps
A Peek Into My Craft Space
About My Craft Space: Yes, yes, it’s messy and packed - BUT it is an organized mess for me! I make sure most of my items that are constantly used are within reach. There is, however another section in my space for dies, pastes, and papers :) My family has given me the whole basement for my space. 2025 goal - to organize it a little more!
