Tropical Oli the Bear!

Hi everyone! My name is Darja, and I'm excited to be a part of the Cute & Whimsical design team!

Welcome to my very first blog post! I'm thrilled to share my project featuring the adorable Oli the Bear in a fun tropical theme. He's great for adding a playful touch to a card or an art journal, as I've done here. I hope you find some inspiration!

Step 1: To start, I die-cut a basic page, one leaf background, four tree trunks, and some mini florals.

Step 2: I inked the edges of the tree trunks with brown ink. I also colored the leaves with grey and blue ink for a soft, natural look.

Step 3: I created a square frame from the tree trunks and secured the corners with four split pins. I used a hammer on the split pins to give them a chunky appearance.

Step 4: Next, I glued the leaf background behind the frame. I left the bottom unglued so that Oli's body could be placed there.

Step 5: I colored Oli with two different shades of brown. You won't need Oli's hind legs for this project.

Step 6: I trimmed a small piece off the bottom of Oli’s body and then glued it slightly behind the frame, with the front legs positioned in front of the frame. This gives the appearance of Oli climbing out.

Step 7: Finally, I glued everything onto the page and finished it off with some lovely flowers and a text. I also used a white gel pen and glossy accents on Oli for extra detail.

I hope you guys enjoy and create your own Oli the bear!
