Welcome to our Meet the Design Team series! Where we feature one of our incredible DT members, giving you a chance to learn more about them, their creativity, and what inspires them. Let’s dive in!

About Janet

Location: New York, USA

A Little About Me: Hi All! My name is Janet Saieva, and I have lived my whole life (and it’s been a long one lol) on beautiful Long Island in New York State, USA.

My hubby, John, and I have been married for over 62 years and love spending time with our wonderful family. Our daughter and son-in-love blessed us with three amazing grandchildren, two boys and a girl, and they are the loves of our lives. We have a new grand puppy, too, who is definitely quite the character. Our family lives less than 20 minutes away from us, so we have always been close in both distance and heart. It has been so much fun watching the grandkids grow into the amazing young adults that they are today. Whenever we’re together, laughter fills the room. I’m so incredibly grateful for the blessing of my family.

Crafting became a big part of my life after retirement, and I enjoy doing so many different kinds of crafts and am always looking to learn something new, but making paper flowers is definitely my first love. I spend a great deal of time in my very small, messy and packed craft room, which is actually a small corner bedroom with amazing lighting. The birds sing outside my windows and keep me company when I’m here in my happy place. Life is good.

This is my second year on the Paper Flowers Design Team here at Elizabeth Craft Designs, and I’m honored to be here. Everyone on all of the design teams is so warm and welcoming, and being part of this big, happy crafting family is a dream come true. I don’t have to look far in my search to learn new things…everything is right here at my fingertips. I’ve never seen so many brilliant and talented artists gathered together in one place as there are here at ECD. They inspire me every single day.

My Favorite Project

Why It’s My Favorite: The Bohemian Rose Collection by Angelica Turner is my all-time favorite collection and I really enjoyed creating the vintage vase with the Bohemian roses. I loved the whole process of aging the vase and then filling it with the gorgeous roses.

Craft Tip or Must-Have Tool

My Favorite Crafting Tool or Tip: I recently purchased the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fine Pointed Scissors and I don’t know how I survived without them. They are absolutely amazing.
