How to Make Elegant 3 Panel Cards

Do you love making cards with bold stamp images? Or maybe you’re looking for a way to elevate your stamped cards with a new, elegant design idea? In this tutorial, you’ll learn to make an elegant three-panel card with a bold focal stamped image. This handmade card makes a statement with its bold, simple design, and once you’ve mastered matching the stamped images, you can swap them out to create cards for any occasion.

Hello everyone, Diane here, with a tutorial for a simple yet elegant 3-panel card.

Step 1: On two 5 ¼’’ X 5’’ pieces of White Soft Finish cardstock, stamp the big bunch of flowers from the Busy Bee (CS445) stamp set with black ink.

Color both images exactly the same. I used some Copic markers to do this.

Step 2: Using the Pocket Page Inserts 1 (2335) die set, take the empty frame and die-cut 3 panels from one of the two images. When you die-cut these from the image, think about where you are cutting them. You will be lining these up on top of the other image later, and you want to try to have them evenly spaced.

Step 3: Using the same die, die cut 3 black panels. Adhere each stamped panel to a black one, offsetting it slightly.

Step 4: On the remaining stamped image, use a background stamp to give it texture. I used the stamps from the Flower Centers (CS330) stamp set. Using black ink and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, stamp them onto the background. Add some shading to the image's contour with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.

Step 5: For the card base, take an 11 ½” X 5 ½” piece of cardstock and score and fold at 5 ¾” to make a 5 ¾” X 5 ½” card. Cut a black piece of cardstock measuring 5 ½” X 5 ¼”. Adhere the black piece of cardstock onto the white folded piece.

Step 6: Put some foam tape adhesive on the panels and adhere each of them at the exact same spot on the stamped image. Add a ribbon bow for a finishing touch.

I really hope this inspired you to make a card like this or made you want to get your stamps out and play!
