How to Make a Halloween Card the Easy Way!

Are you looking for Halloween card inspiration, or do you know someone special whose birthday falls during spooky season and who would love a seasonal birthday card? In this tutorial, learn to combine Halloween with beautiful florals to create a spooky- chic card that’s perfect for the season or for the birthday of someone special.

Grab your shaping tools, ink pads, and favorite spooky cardstock, then follow the step-by-step guide and supply list below!

Hello everyone, Robin here with a fun Halloween/Birthday card I made for my daughter, her birthday is on Halloween.  I’d like to show you step by step what I did.

Step 1:  Cut out all mouse, pumpkin and costume pieces

Step 2: Color all pieces for the mouse (the costume and pumpkin are cut from color cardstock)

Step 3: Cut out all flower, stamen and leaf pieces from Soft Finish Cardstock

Step 4:  Color all flower parts and leaves, with Distress Oxides blending them gently.

Step 5:  Shape flowers and leaves using your flower-shaping tools. I like to use my needle-nose pliers to shape my petals.

Step 6: Glue the flowers together with hot glue (or your preferred adhesive), offsetting the petals on each layer. Then add stones or Prills to the flower centers.

Step 7: Stamp the sentiment in black ink, cut it to your desired size, and mat it with orange cardstock.

Step 8: Cut out the card front pieces from the Beautiful Brights and Pretty Pastels and the frames from orange cardstock. Layer and glue all the pieces together.

Step 9: Glue the mouse pieces, costume, and pumpkin pieces together, then attach them in place on the oval, adding dimension with foam tape as desired.

Step 10: Glue the flowers and leaves around the oval. Play with placement to see what appeals to you; I think flowers on each side of the oval works well. Attach the sentiment to the top of the card with foam tape, then glue it to a 5” x 7” card blank to finish.

I hope you find inspiration here and make your own fun Halloween card.  There are so many cute costumes and beautiful flowers to choose from.
