How to Make a Dahlia with the Beautiful Blooms Collection

Do you love to make 3D florals that look realistic and full? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to know how to make a Dahlia? In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a 3D paper flower dahlia using the Beautiful Bloom Collection from Paper Flowers. Once you know how to create one, you can make full bouquets or use them to decorate all your 3d projects and handmade cards.

Hello everyone, Jacqueline here with a DIY to make a 3D Dahlia yourself. Using the latest Paper Flower collection: Beautiful Blooms. Let’s make one together!

Step 1: Die cut all the different size flowers and ink them in your favorite color and shape them.

Step 2: Punch a hole in the middle of your flowers. Use a small punch first and make it bigger with a stick or cochet hook.

Step 3: Get a cotton bud. This will act as the center of your flower. Color your cotton bud with green or yellowish ink, then cut off one end.

Step 4: Die-cut 3 of the smaller flowers, color them green, and shape them. These will be the leaves at the base of the Dahlia.

Step 5: Push the flowers on the cotton bud. Begin with the smallest one and, each time, add the same or larger flowers. Add some glue with your glue gun under the biggest flower at the end. Then add the 3 green flowers.

Step 6: Attach the cotton bud with the flower to a wooden skewer. You could use double-sided tape for this. Wind the flower binding ribbon around the stick. Begin with a couple of layers under the green leaves, then wrap the stick to the end. Now your flower is ready.

I hope I have inspired you to make your own 3D flowers. When you have made a bunch, you can make a bouquet with them. Or just leave it as a single stem and display it in its own little vase.
