Easy Masking Techniques for Handmade Cards
Are you a crafter who loves stamping, or are you looking for easy stamping techniques that pack a punch? In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a birthday card using an easy masking technique that you can use again and again in all your projects.
Hi everyone, Marie-Claire here! I'm going to show you how I make a stamped birthday card.
Step 1: Cut a rectangle. The size of the rectangle die I use is 9.5 x 14.5 cm, but you could cut one by hand or using a paper trimmer.
Step 2: Take two pieces of masking tape and stick them together, overlapping them slightly. Stamp Frida (or another focal image) onto it, then cut it out.
Step 3: Then stamp the image on your card and stick the masking tape on it. Now you can stamp the entire card as you wish and remove the masking tape.
Step 4: I like to make splashes on my card, which I do with a marker airbrush. But you can do it however you’d like.
Step 5: Mat the card with black paper. The mat I cut was 9.9 x 10.3 cm.
Step 6: To make the card base, cut a piece of card to 20.6 x 10.3 cm, score and fold it at 10.3 cm. Then stick your stamped topper onto the card, and your birthday card is ready!
